Xylie Tran graduated from the Queensland University of Technology with a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) in December 2019. She is currently completing her Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice and is expected to be admitted as a solicitor by the end of 2020.
Prior to joining Timpson Immigration Lawyers in July 2019, she commenced her legal career as a legal assistant in the immigration law and human rights advocacy teams at Fisher Dore Lawyers in 2018, focusing on refugee, humanitarian, and protection visas in addition to AAT, IAA and judicial review matters.
She has also volunteered with the Queensland Program of Assistance to Survivors of Torture and Trauma (QPASTT) and Amnesty International Australia. Her experience in those roles afforded her the opportunity to provide meaningful assistance to some of society’s most vulnerable demographics.
Through all this, she developed a strong compassion for financially disadvantaged and vulnerable people who find themselves facing a negative immigration decision. She also understands the importance of always providing professional and culturally appropriate legal advice for her clients.
When she is not in the office, she is likely to be found doing embroidery, going thrifting, or tendering to her large collection of indoor plants.
