There has been a lot of talk in the media this week about changes to 457 visas. Most importantly to 457 visa holders are the changes relating to Condition 8107. The condition regarding work restrictions. As you are probably aware, the work restriction comes into effect once a nomination/visa by an employer is approved. Once this happens, the 457 holder can only work for the nominating employer in the occupation which is specified in the nomination. There are only a few exceptions to this rule, like if the employee is employed as a general manager or medical practitioner and a couple of others.
